My art workshops are committed to meeting the individual’s needs, where arts-based activities can enhance self-esteem, promote relaxation, confidence, happiness, achievement and imagination, in group based projects.
The arts-based workshops are catered towards, primary and secondary level age groups. Pupils have enjoyed a range of painting and mixed media activities such as collage, mosaic tiling, recycled materials, acrylic painting-stencilling and decorative embellishing.
I work with community groups on a wide range of topics, events, playshemes and festivals across the Newry area.

Carnagat Community Art Workshop
My collaboration with Carnagat Community Association commenced in August 2012.
I had been approached by community leaders to design 6 outdoor murals approx 48in x 48in.
An initial introduction with community leaders and the youth, resulted in a short brain storming session, to get ideas for the project. These ideas were developed and fine tuned into 6 themes : Disney, Nature, Space, Wildlife, Travellers and Sealife.
The workshop lasted one full week and in that time frame I worked exclusively with 12 children, ranging in age from 8 year old to 16 year old.
The 6 panels were primed and whitewashed, ready for acrylic painting, after the panels had been applied with acrylic paint, the images were further embellished with coloured bejewelled stones, recycled bottle tops, sea shells and plastic bottles. The final stage was to seal each image with a protective outdoor varnish.
From the photos you can see the finished works and the great team, I had the pleasure to work with. To complete the project on schedule, I worked approximately 9 hours per day, the youth assisted me but their shifts patterns were catered to meet their needs, so they started at 10am each morning and broke for a one hour lunch at 1pm, commencing at 2pm to 4pm.
All final detail and refining of the images was completed by myself. The group showed fantastic teamwork and executed their artistic skills to the full, exceeding my expectations and that of the community leaders, both in manner, respect and appreciation, for the images.

I am currently liasing with community leaders, to develop a brand new, 100ft outdoor wall mural, for the summer of 2013 at Carnagat Community Association.
